The light’s different this time of year,
the sun stays awake for longer.
A beautiful time to be alive,
with spring days and sunshine.
Children look forward to
a school-less summer
of fun and games…
But my fear is,
when midsummer’s over,
the darkness returns,
soon December comes –
the sun’s
hardly up
at all!
Again trying something new. I’ve heard of FF55 (Flash Fiction 55) before, a challenge where whatever you choose to write can only be exactly 55 words, and yesterday Imaginary Garden with Real Toads had their first Mini-Challenge – FF55. The photo was taken out my window, at about 5am this morning, and serves as inspiration for this attempt…
love this light and shade piece…
Ah.. yes the difference of a Swedish summer.. Fortunately it’s a little bit longer than that.. I think we both reflected on the same thing (but Swedes tend to reflect a lot on light and dark).. ** ha en riktigt bra Söndag”
Yes, and you reflected on the light, and I on the dark! ** tack, detsamma**
Your morning picture is stunning ~ This time of the year is my favorite. I dread these long winter nights when we can hardly see the sun ~
And on it goes…cycle of seasons…I’ve gotten a little bit better about not holding on to any one of then to firmly. 😉
Great writing here…the light of which you speak IS such a pleasure isn’t it.
It really is, and some days the mere thought of it makes us Swedes walk around with silly grins on our faces… Then my dad looks at me and says ‘Soon it will start getting darker again…’ *smile*
Oh those dads…always with a dose of reality to pluck us from our cloud walking. 😉 Bah humbug.
I hope it’s sunny where you are…today is very gray but yesterday was perfection! 🙂
Such anxiety. To live in a mind so troubled with what tomorrow might bring, that the soul can’t truly enjoy the beauties of today. What sadness…
By the way, about your response to “Trapped”… I wish to suggest that the last two words of the flash are key to making sense of the entire thing. Then again, you know how these kind of things always make clear sense in the head of the creatrix.
I didn’t mean it as a criticism, merely that it made me stop in my tracks. For me it actually made a lot of sense… *smile*
hey now, don’t borrow trouble! Enjoy the present moment. 🙂
Just goes to show the beautiful moments to live in. Cannot live in teh fear and hesitation.
Gorgeous photo, and although I understand what you’re saying about midsummer-autumn-winter, I am just starting to see spring here, with all its wonders.
