Thunderclouds
rolling in
warm, wet air
full of sin.
Summer skies
turned black in a moment,
cool, hard rain that
falls in a torrent.
Static electricity
sparkles in the night.
Against Mother Nature’s fury
we will always lose the fight.

Unleash the power,
strike down on us,
in fear we cringe
and fuss.
Sear the sky
in spectacle.
Let your fury be
perceptible.
Static electricity
with beauty it does kill.
Against Mother Nature’s fury
just pray and be still.

And so it came, the snow we had been waiting for.
Each individual flake dancing just for us.
Our world turned white, the dark more light
and Christmas will be here, the same as before.

Mother Nature now covered in crystals of ice,
her soft winter duvet of snow.
Sleeping, contentedly around us
as the world grows less noisy, less hectic.

Let it snow, let it snow…

Tonight, when no one can see,
I will go out and make a snow angel of me.

Nature is omnipresent.
She lives without and within.
Nature is the birds and the bees,
and nature can be sin.

Nature is the almighty power
that guides from cradle to grave.
Nature is the world we inhabit,
whether in a castle or a cave.

Nature can be cruel and vengeful,
but she loves, and she forgives.
Nature is the ultimate mother
of everything that lives.

This was inspired by and entered at Jingle Poetry Potluck week 45: Nature and Life.

Have we forgot the bounties galore
growing on the forest floor?
Like rubies red, sapphires blue
nectar of Gods, sweet berries new.
An hour or more I walked around
for no reason, I was nowhere bound.
With fingers red from wild berry juice
I worshipped Mother Nature, my truest muse!
Amongst the blueberries I did go
to the bushes where sweet raspberries grow.
Along the path, wild strawberries shone red,
the beauty of it all just spun in my head.
As we stress down the streets in daily life,
remember the honey of the wild bees’ hive.
Remember the mushrooms that grow in autumn,
remember the wild, sweet taste of freedom!
Do not forget the bounty galore
that grows in the shade on the forest floor!

We go on and on
about the artwork of the Masters:
Picasso, Monet,
Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt.
Always forgetting that their works
are merely remnants.
Of the one true artist,
creator of all beauty!
The one who holds the blueprint to
the Masterworks that we see!
If it wasn’t for her,
our blessed Mother Nature
none of them would have had
the subjects they portray.
Our world would be poorer
in every single way.
So please remember, if you will,
when you admire art,
that the wonders so created,
though wondrous  at heart,
are merely bleaker copies
of nature’s original design.
Nothing made by human hand
can ever match that made by
the sea, the sun, the wind and the sand!

Hello, remember me? Your number one fan!
Last time we spoke I advised you to ‘go get a man’.
I do believe you heard me, as since then it hasn’t snowed,
but I wanted to check in with you and see how it goes?
Remember how I said to you, that men could cause you pain,
I even started speculate your tears would give us rain?
Well, lately you just must have been in quite a lot of pain
I shouldn’t be complaining, but it’s raining yet again!
Are you once more PMS:ing, Mother Nature so divine?
See, it would be rather nice with some Midsummer sunshine…

This is a link to the first Plea of Mother Nature.
