Like the naked child from his mother’s womb
or the butterfly from his safe cocoon.
Like the fresh new leaves that from their buds burst
or the chicken beak who breaks its shell first.
But that is all the beginning of a life
every morning is born for our love and our strife
and reborn again the very next day
with new chances, options and come what may!
Like the naked child from his mother’s womb
we emerge, every morning, from sleep’s safe cocoon!
This was inspired by the beautiful photo and prompt at Poets United Think Tank #86 – Rebirth. I also have to give inspirational credit to Kodjo Deynoo’s poem Sun is out, since I was heading in a completely different direction with this before I stumbled on this poem.
This is lovely. Yes, each day is a ‘rebirth,’ and I very much liked the idea of the ‘cocoon of sleep.’
Yes, every morning we get the chance to get it ‘right’ all over again. If we’re lucky.
Beautiful use of the prompt.
Simple and beautiful…..grateful to see each new day.
Ah, yes… each day is a chance to start anew… and we can also start the day over anytime.
Hey CC I think we were ‘on the same page’ with this prompt, good morning!
Very nicely done Cecilia! Lovely.
Thank you very much, Shanyn!!! *smile*
Some grand thoughts to start a day!
Thank you, everyone, for commenting! This was, as I noted, in part inspired by reading the other entries over at Poets United and I would recommend you all to head over and see what more inspiration can be had!
