Tomorrow is the most useless day there is!
Yes, I know how poets praise it!
But it’s never now,
never here!
Never ever even near!
It’s always that one day
in future tense
that leaves us longing,
without sense!
Tomorrow is never what you wish!
It is the most useless day there is!
This was inspired by and entered at Sunday Scribblings for the prompt 283 – Tomorrow.
Sam: “Grandpa. Will you take me to the park today like you promised?”
Grandpa: “I never promised to take you to the park today.”
Sam: “Yes you did! Yesterday you said that tomorrow you would take me!”
Grandpa: “Well today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow.”
Sam: “So you’ll take me then?”
Grandpa: “Hey, a promise is a promise!”
I wouldn’t like a grandpa like that… *sigh* Adults think they can get away with murder! *smile*
Is it a coincidence that tomorrow is Monday…? 😀
Those are the very worst tomorrows, that’s true! 🙂
I love this. I read it from FB and liked it. I keep coming back to it, really a great musing 🙂
*blushing* Thank you! Happy you like it!
sassy! haha liked it the best among the ones I’ve read on sunday scribbling
*blushing* High praise indeed! Thank you very much!
But, imagine then if suddenly you were told tomorrow wasn’t going to come for you… Hmmm
Nice, thoughtful piece.
Thank you! I believe I did a post on that (Short Random Thought) just the other week… *smile* So you are very right about pointing it out. 🙂
Oh WOW! I love your poem. Very well said.
Thanks ever so much!
