This is how it would go:
Q: Who are you?
A: I don’t know.
Q: What do you mean? Who would you want to be?
A: Well, anyone else really. Just not me!
Q: What is your age?
A: Hard to say, in between somewhere…
Old, but not yet sage.
Q: You’re mysterious, you! What about your family?
A: I’ve once been married,
I’ve got parents
and a dog…
And then there’s just me.
Q: Hobbies then, you must have those?
A: Oh, I do – just like most.
I like to read, I like to write,
watch bad TV all through the night.
Then there’s Facebook and now this blog,
watching the views go up, I say I’m quite agog.
But in answer to your question
about my spare time;
I put pen to paper in words that
too often rhyme.
Q: Has it always been that way?
A: I don’t quite know what to say…
I have always played with words,
but most of it has been unheard.
I dig the old stuff out once in a while,
and read through it with a veeery guilty smile!
Q: Well OK, we’re nearly done here. But what about love?
A: Nah, that love thing’s not for me,
I’ve been quite badly burned you see…
There was one, there was two, three and four
and now…
I don’t think I’ll bother
with that love thing anymore.
For Day 14 of NaPoWriMo 2015 I wrote a follow up to this – almost for years later: Interview With Myself Part II (four years later).
Great poem, wry but sad, poignant but amused…a lot like life!
Thank you! Thought I’d try something different (wasn’t sure it’d work), so glad you enjoyed it! *smile*
CC,this is awesome!
Visions appeared with this one:)
*bowing humbly, but with a big grin* Thank you again for reading!
I love your poetry Cecilia!!!
You should do a section where guests send you their poetry, and you publish them on your blog!!!! I have a few from 15 years ago.
Thank you, sweetie! Why don’t you start your own blog? I’ve put some of my old stuff (mooooore than 15 years old) up here… And there are communities where you can post links asking people to read and comment (of course you have to return the favour, but most of the stuff people post is actually readable if not always enjoyable). Perhaps if I, at some point, start running out of my own material you’ll be the first to know, OK? *stora kramar i massor*
Fun reading your blog. You write very well! Cheers!
Thank you! I enjoy writing it, and I’m thrilled to hear that someone enjoys reading it! *smile*
Love your honesty and self-humor.
And in response to the rhymes, I’ll quote from “The Princess Bride” (the movie):
– “No more rhyming, I mean it!”
– “Anybody want a peanut?”
Hahaha… Great quote! *smile* Thank you for reading!
what fun way to show of your world/talent ..
Greetings:
you are represented here, blessing! Let us know what you think via commenting…

Enjoyed reading this inter-view!
You know, with that LOVE thing, just when you stop bothering about, you come across right one!
Have lots of fun.
Thank you very much!
On the answer to that last question, I think you STOLE my answer! 😉
This is soo funny 🙂 I loved this interview… great job! 😀
Loved this poem 🙂
Very well done – so many tones/layers.
Thank you! Read this the other day (wrote it back in 2011) and think I might have to do a follow-up interview at some point… *smile*
Its original/unique, fun and charming, and informative – so good idea!
I think you’ve inspired me…..I need to write an interview with myself. Love your ending too!!!
Oh dear… This was written a very long time ago… Most of it is still valid, though… Have thought about writing a follow-up, but haven’t got around to it. Back when this was written it was rather common to be asked by various web-sites for ‘interviews’… This usually meant you were sent a number of questions to respond to. This was my take on the whole idea… A nice way to answer the questions I wanted the way I would have liked to… *blushing*
[…] don’t know where the initial idea came from, but I did one of these called ‘Interview with Myself‘ on June 22, 2011 (when this blog was still in its infancy) and as the topic of today’s […]
