Of course I’ve made comparisons
and you don’t always measure up.
I have also judged you harshly at times
and know I can come across tough.
But when the day is over and
I hear you softly snore
that is when I realise
I couldn’t
– ever –
love
more.
Today’s challenge at Imaginary Garden with Real Toads was called The Perfect Love Poem and we were to attempt writing one. I don’t think this is it, but… I can vaguely remember that feeling of lying in the darkness, listening to the person next to you breathing, snoring softly, and being filled with such immense love that it almost kills you… That is the feeling I wish I could describe. And that is something I hope to – one day perhaps – have in my life again… Then again, I also hope to get rich and move to Switzerland…
