Until I fell in love I would not ever’ve listened
2 //the music that came to bind me all the way from early youth.
Resistant of conformity, not one of all the crowds
under any countenance – I pretended I was proud!
Left to my own devices I was stuck with the old tunes
even after synth appeared I stuck with ancient runes.
Under guise of love they then appeared –
2 hear them play// live it was the greatest moment that I have to say!
Reveling in thumping drums, Larry knew what should be done!
Under fire of guitars from The Edge having fun!
Less I heard of Adam, but his bass was always there.
Everybody loved him, Bono, and the way he cared!
Understand, please, that I am no longer the obsessed//who
2 get her tickets froze her arse off with the rest!
Reminiscing, yes I do, quite frequently as well // and
underneath I will forever be that U2 girl!
Listen to me carefully, you have to hear me now:
every time they come to play here I’ll be there, somehow!
For Pooky’s Poems where today’s prompt was Prompt 18 – An Admiration Acrostic – and yes, I struggled! *smile* Oh, and please, please, please take the time to listen and view the two YouTube clips… *sigh* They aren’t called the world’s best rock band for no reason!
