Your skin is dry and flaky,
you’ve spent too much time in the sun.
Warm to the touch, cheeks blushing,
I can tell you have had fun.
The sand on the beach is your desert
you ride camels and fight evil men.
I wish I had your child’s imagination
those days will never come again.
I rub your arm with lotion,
you have to stay safe, my son!
Now, go off and build sand castles
before childhood days are done.
