The atoms, neurons, positrons,
and elements, there’s so much more.
Our world is a phenomenon!
Think atoms, neurons, positrons.
Who thought this up, the way we’re drawn?
Please don’t forget, they’re just the core!
Those atoms, neurons, positrons
and elements, but there’s much more.
The Mid-week Motif – Science over at Poets United asked us to be inspired by science and provided us with examples in sonnet form. This is not a sonnet, but I have tried my hand at something called a triolet, an ABaAabAB form in iambic tetrameter (yes, I know it sounds like Greek and it is, but it describes how the lines are combined and what they should sound like). I don’t know if I’ve succeeded, but I’m rather proud to have attempted it – and made it sort of work. Hope you enjoy!
