Loving You’s a Dirty Job
but somebody’s gotta do it…
Now that somebody ain’t gonna be me!
Don’t like your Atmosphere, so I’ll just leave!
See, I want to live in a House of Love
not be bullied like a Ricochet
So hear me now, enough’s enough
I Don’t Want To Go On With You That Way.
You May Be Right, I may be wrong,
but honey, this is our very last song!
I have to Listen To My Heart
I’m leaving you now, I need a fresh start.
I don’t know if I liked today’s prompt, Day nine of NaPoWriMo 2014, or not. The challenge was to put your music player on random, pick the first six titles that came up and use those in a poem. I have a rather eclectic taste in music, so I suppose it could have been worse (at least I didn’t have to try to work around Swedish or German this time), but here are the first (eight) songs that came up, and above my attempt at putting them together:
Loving Is A Dirty Job (but somebody gotta do it) – Bonnie Tyler
House of Love – East 17
Atmosphere – Joy Division
Ricochet – September (link for the song Satellites)
Anji – Simon & Garfunkel
Listen To Your Heart – Roxette
I Don’t Want To Go On With You Like That – Elton John
You May Be Right – Billy Joel
It might be more enjoyable to just go listen to the songs rather than to read the poem if I’m honest… I will, however, try to do better tomorrow.
